Index Your Files is a portable, free file indexing application that is small in size yet amazingly able to index hundreds of thousands files within a few minutes only without too much burden on the system resources.

It lets you create as many databases as you need. Next time you want to search for certain files, you can select any of the dabatase to be included in the searching job so you won’t have to spend your time searching the whole database.

Each database within the program can contain multiple folders of your selection. What’s more, it can be edited anytime in case you want to include or exclude some files in or from the database.

While updating one or two databases at once can be done relatively fast (depending on the number of the files), updating the whole things simultaneously can take some time. So perhaps you want to consider about performing the update when you do nothing with your computer. However, the app also lets you set different update schedule for each database.

The search feature is also designed in such a way that makes easy anyone to perform the job. The files that are found can be copied, deleted, moved, opened or sent to clipboard. The preview pane helps the users to find out a bit more about the selected files.
